Shop Administrator


The Shop Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Shop including updating various databases, assisting with site purchases, and processing purchase orders.


How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Administer Kenaidan’s equipment and material tracking through Viewpoint.
  • Assist the Shop Coordinator to support job sites for equipment and material requirements and assist with purchasing and receiving.
  • Administer 407 Transponder and Gas Card allocation to drivers and tracking.
  • Be the point of contact for staff who are borrowing vehicles ensuring that paperwork is in place.
  • Distribute shop charges to projects once prepared by Shop Coordinator.
  • Collect required paperwork and manage the electronic filing of documents.
  • Assist the Shop Technician with administering the preventative maintenance program including updating information into Viewpoint.
  • Administer Shop Purchase Order and coding process for invoices.
  • Manage the gas monitoring program and equipment.
  • Process the monthly Mastercard billing.
  • Ensure that Material Safety Data Sheets are available and updated for all materials/products used in the shop.
  • Organize defensive driving courses for all assigned vehicle drivers and anyone who will be driving company vehicles.

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary training in business or administration is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an administrative role.
  • Prior experience in Construction in an administrative capacity is an asset.
  • Prior purchasing experience is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with travel to job sites as required. Personal protective equipment (i.e. hard hat, safety boots & reflective clothing) required at all times when on site.
