Centurion Apartment Real Estate Investment Trust (“REIT”) owns more than 22,000 multi-family apartment units and student housing beds across 28 cities in Canada and the United States. Since day one, our goal has been to provide residents and their families with clean, safe, and comfortable homes.
Overview
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of Property Operations, the Vice President of Property Operations is responsible for all aspects of Centurion’s residential and commercial operations across Canada, including the direct management and oversight of all Property Directors. The Vice President will ensure that Centurion’s real property assets are effectively and efficiently managed to established standards and within established budgets.
Responsibilities
- Relationship Development:
Develop and foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure proactive resolution of performance issues with staff, contractors, and vendors. - Customer Service:
Oversee the management of all Resident and Employee inquiries and ensure a high level of satisfaction is achieved. - Ongoing Operations:
Oversee the management, administration, and leasing of all properties. Ensure properties perform to their highest potential, minimize vacancy, and optimize revenues. - Administration and Reporting:
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures while identifying strategies to increase operational efficiencies. Oversee operating and financial reporting. - Sales and Marketing:
Work with marketing teams to implement innovative sales initiatives and increase brand recognition. - Risk Management:
Ensure ongoing compliance with current codes and assist with risk assessments. - Capital Project and Building Management:
Liaise with technical services for major capital projects and ensure preventative maintenance is scheduled.
Requirements
- A passion for excellence in customer service delivery;
- Post-Secondary degree in business or related field;
- Minimum 10 years’ Multi‐Residential Operational experience within a national portfolio;
- Student housing operations experience considered an asset;
- Demonstrated track record in managing operating and financial performance;
- Proven ability to lead and motivate employees;
- Detail‐oriented with problem-solving skills;
- Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to multi‐task;
- Strong command of MS Office products;
- Experience with Yardi property management systems.
