About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President of Property Operations to join our team at Centurion Asset Management Inc. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in the success of our residential and commercial property operations across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship Development
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
    • Ensure proactive and timely resolution of performance issues.
    • Maintain good rapport with key industry contacts and establish new relationships to expand brand recognition.
  • Customer Service
    • Oversee the management of resident and employee inquiries, feedback, complaints, or concerns.
    • Ensure a high level of satisfaction is achieved through constant attention to our vision, mission, and values.
    • Promote a strong sense of community.
  • Ongoing Operations
    • Oversee the professional management, administration, and leasing of all residential and commercial properties.
    • Operate properties consistent with management expectations and approved annual budgets.
    • Ensure that buildings perform to their highest potential, minimizing vacancy, and optimizing revenues.
  • Administration and Reporting
    • Ensure compliance with all provincial legislation, including the Residential Tenancies Act, Labour Relations Act, Fire Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
    • Complete operating and financial reporting, including weekly availability and traffic reporting, monthly property reports, and variance analysis.
  • Sales and Marketing
    • Work with the marketing and leasing teams to develop and implement sales and marketing initiatives.
    • Identify lead-generation tactics to increase brand recognition.
  • Risk Management
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with current codes, technical safety standards, and legislation.
    • Assist with effective and prompt resolution of municipal and provincial work orders.
  • Capital Project and Building Management
    • Liaise with the Vice President of Technical Service and Innovations and consultants for major capital projects.
    • Complete regular inspections of properties to ensure established standards are met.
Requirements
  • A passion for excellence in customer service delivery.
  • Post-secondary degree in business or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years' multi-residential operational experience within a national portfolio.
  • Student housing operations experience considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated track record in successfully managing operating and financial performance.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate employees to achieve common goals and operational objectives.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to independently resolve problems.
  • Strong follow-up skills with the aptitude to develop creative solutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Strong command of MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Yardi property management systems.
