Overview:
The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to hire a Business Analyst to analyze the current state of the DIAMONDS system and the business processes that rely on it, and document requirements for a replacement system. The information gathered and shared throughout the engagement should inform replacement options and provide sufficient requirements analysis to proceed with next steps to build or buy a new solution. The successful proponent will plan and execute the activities related to understanding the current state, gathering requirements for the future state, and assessing options for next steps. The final set of deliverables should include a thorough analysis of current state, well defined system requirements, and recommendations for potential solutions. The contracted resources will gather requirements, facilitate workshops, and prepare
documentation. They will engage subject matter experts, technical resources, and other stakeholders in developing documentation.

What you will be doing:

  • Document the current state, including business processes, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and brainstorming sessions to gather requirements.

  • Analyze, organize, and prioritize business requirements based on business value and feasibility.

  • Provide insights into the business domain, identify business process improvements, and suggest innovative solutions to meet business goals.

  • Validate the requirements with stakeholders to ensure accuracy, completeness and alignment with business objectives.

  • Acting as a liaison between subject matter experts and the technical team.

  • Overall, the Business Analyst acts as a facilitator, communicator, and problem solver, working closely with stakeholders to ensure that business needs are well understood and communicated.

The successful proponent in collaboration with government staff, will produce the following:

  • Visual representations illustrating current and proposed business processes, highlighting potential improvements.

  • Detailed documents such as business requirements document (BRD), user stories, use cases, and functional requirements.

  • Recommendations for a replacement solutions and next steps

  • The successful proponent must have the required technology, including a phone, computer/laptop, peripherals, and Microsoft Office, to create effective team collaboration which supports the required delivery timeframes and activities. Any software or tools used in the creation or distribution of deliverables must be available to all internal and external members of the multidisciplinary team.

What you must have:

  • Significant experience in gathering requirements, writing user stories, and conducting current state/future state analysis.

  • Proficient with business analysis tools and techniques.

  • Experience with the software development lifecycle.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation capabilities.

  • Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various levels and functions.

  • Strong skills in the use of collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Teams, Confluence, JIRA, Miro, and/or others.

Nice to have: 

  • Experience working with Public Sector software projects.

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)

  • Short term contract – July 22, 2024, and finish by August 30, 2024

  • 7 hour work day
