Job Overview

The Operations Analyst will support the equity clearing and option clearing teams through various reconciliation tasks. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that trades are settled on the trade date plus one for both product lines and will assist in daily risk mitigation efforts. Accuracy in transaction processing and timely handling of items is essential.

What is the opportunity?

Join RBC's Capital Markets as a dedicated business graduate within the Global Operations team. This division serves as the backbone of trading activities, responsible for post-execution trade processing and maintaining robust controls throughout the trade life cycle. In this position, you will conduct daily reconciliations of equity trades reported by different exchanges and brokers against our internal records. Any discrepancies must be thoroughly investigated and communicated to the relevant business units or traders. You will also be responsible for making correcting entries to resolve breaks and ensuring reconciliations are completed by settlement dates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all departmental procedures and policies
  • Identify, report, monitor, and resolve trade reconciliations and exceptions promptly
  • Record trades in ADP to address discrepancies
  • Demonstrate problem-solving abilities and critical thinking under time constraints
  • Continuously analyze departmental processes to enhance efficiency
  • Manage relationships effectively with various teams across Canada and the US
  • Handle Trade Breaks and ADP P&S Workflow

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and proactively anticipate needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Equity Back Office or Trade Support
  • Proficiency in ADP functions, including MRGN, CCXR, NEWB, and Reports Online
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong commitment to tasks with a keen attention to detail
