Job Description

The Royal Conservatory (RCM) is one of the largest and most respected music education institutions in the world, providing the definitive standard of excellence in curriculum design, assessment, performance training, and teacher certification. Reporting to the Vice President, Business Development & Marketing (BDM), Learning Systems, the Director of Business Development and Partnerships (BDP) will be responsible for maximizing revenue for the RCM across multiple business lines in North America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific markets.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Implementation

  • Consult with RCM products teams (BD/Sales, Marketing, Digital) to develop strategies to maximize revenue opportunities and develop new markets.
  • In partnership with the VP, BDM, develop and implement an annual revenue plan that enables RCM to achieve annual revenue goals.
  • Identify new market opportunities, craft business models, and foster partnerships to expand market share.

Revenue Optimization

  • Identify best practices of revenue generation and profit enhancing strategies.
  • Pilot and execute sales launch for new products with distribution partners.
  • Identify areas of incremental revenue growth opportunities with existing partners.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Review month-end performance and work with internal and external stakeholders to drive incremental revenue.
  • Monitor key indicators of product performance and third-party data sources to identify revenue opportunities.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide orientation and training to new revenue team roles in all regions.
  • Mentor, develop and teach revenue team members.
What We're Looking For
  • 7 years of leadership experience in strategic sales and operations in global markets.
  • Proven track record in partnership development and revenue generation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from complex business data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
  • High level of written and spoken language competency in Mandarin or other languages is considered an asset.
Additional Information

Office environment with occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours. Travel 50% or more as needed for the role.
