Our client is a leading Licensed Producer (LP) in the cannabis industry, known for their high-quality products and innovative brands that consistently outperform the competition. White Ash Group is currently recruiting for their next Director of National Sales, a pivotal role responsible for driving sales growth, managing key accounts, and leading a dynamic sales team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the C-Suite to execute strategic initiatives and ensure the company's continued success in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Relationship Management:
    Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key retailers and distributors (government bodies) across the country, with a focus on the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and other strategic markets.
  2. Sales Team Leadership:
    Hire, manage, coach, and lead a team of sales representatives, ensuring they meet or exceed sales targets and objectives. Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
  3. Strategic Account Planning:
    Develop and implement key account strategies that enhance client outcomes, capture market opportunities, and expand market share. Identify and capitalize on distribution opportunities to maximize sales volume through strategic partnerships, increased product visibility, and exceptional service.
  4. Performance Management:
    Utilize sales data and CRM tools to monitor and drive team performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize results. Establish and manage sales key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets for the team, regularly reviewing progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
  5. Budget Management:
    Effectively manage the sales budget, ensuring that expenses are controlled while maximizing return on investment. Report on budget performance and provide recommendations for adjustments to senior leadership.
  6. Market Expansion & Lead Generation:
    Identify and pursue new sales leads, including sponsorship opportunities, to expand the company's market presence. Attend industry events and conferences to network, promote the brand, and stay informed about market trends.
  7. Sales Reporting & Analysis:
    Develop and manage a sales route plan to optimize efficiency across the team's assigned territories. Create and distribute monthly sales activity reports to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations based on performance metrics. Present findings to the C-Suite and board.
  8. KPI Management:
    Sample KPIs include monthly sales and distribution metrics, adherence to sales activity reporting schedules, and achievement of sales targets.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Experience:
    Minimum of 5+ years of sales leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in the cannabis industry. Demonstrated ability to manage key accounts and lead high-performing sales teams.
  2. Skills:
    Exceptional relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both team members and clients. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in CRM systems and sales performance management tools.
  3. Other Requirements:
    Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and support the sales team. Strong leadership capabilities, with a focus on team development and performance improvement.
