The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the company’s objectives and can think strategically to develop innovative ways of aiding the company’s success from an estimating and market relationship perspective.

Location: Kingston, ON PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Prepares Cost Estimates
  2. Obtains tender documents from online bid posting sites.
  3. Attends job showings and pretender site visits.
  4. Review existing site conditions.
  5. Performs pre-qualification tasks as required.
  6. Obtains bid bonds, and insurance quotes for tender submissions.
  7. Review tender specifications, drawings, Geotech reports, and draft contract/subcontract documents.
  8. Submit concerns or questions through the tender RFI process.
  9. Identify all potential contract risks and liaison with our project controls and claims department for advice.
  10. Communicates with sub-contractors to obtain pricing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Certified Engineering Technologist designation an asset.
  • Experience in estimation of roads, sewer and water and new sub-developments will be an asset.
  • 2+ years of a combination of field and estimating experience.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • A high proficiency in Microsoft Office Hard Dollar Estimation software and SAP knowledge and asset.
