Lead Estimator

Fort Glass offers RRSP contribution match after 6 months, and benefits. Our wages are competitive and will be based on experience.
General hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00AM - 4:30PM with options for overtime. This is a full time, year around position.

As a lead estimator, you will be responsible to preform a wide range of duties listed below.

Role and Responsibility
- Communicate with clients, staff members, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, conduct site inspections, and collaborate with experienced field team to ensure accurate data collection for bid generation and project execution.
- Conduct take-offs, accurate measures, prepare estimates utilizing material procurement processing for commercial storefront, curtainwall, automatic entrance systems, railing system, hardware, and glass.
- Prepare and submit professional, accurate and competitive bid packages.
- Prepare, coordinate and track RFI’s, submittals, addendums and change orders, ensuring all additional values have been accurately accounted for.
- Purchase material for projects and stock.
- Manage inventory including consumables.
- Improve efficiencies and skills through use of current technologies.
- Participate in post project analysis.
- Maintain relationships with contractors and customers and look to build new relationships.
- Assist with implementation/execution of PMA program.

Qualifications must include:

- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to read, understand and explain architectural plans, construction drawings and tender documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with commercial storefront, curtain wall, entrance systems, railing systems, commercial hardware, and glass.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Present in a professional manner in both written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong/above average math skills.
- Thrive in a team environment and work well with others, as well as on your own.
- Previous experience, or education in a similar role.
- Valid G Drivers License.
