Ground Effects is looking for a Sr. Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Oshawa, Ontario. The Senior Human Resource Generalist will contribute services to the maintenance, enforcement and communication of company policy and procedure. Providing guidance to HR staff, management, and leadership teams. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will administer new hire experience/onboarding, policy adherence, legal compliance/employment law. Advise, support and guide junior HR team by providing best practice ideas, on company policy or employment law requirements, employment termination document preparation, and provide back-up services as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business Administration or related field
  • Relevant HR Designation preferred (SHRM, CHRL, CHRP, CEBS, etc.)
  • 4 years’ experience in Human Resources
  • ISO/TS16949 manufacturing environment preferred
  • Automotive Manufacturing Experience
  • Ability to build long term relationships and put effort in earning trust
  • Sound knowledge of all HR disciplines including performance management, recruitment, employee relations, learning and development, talent management, compensation, WSIB, Health and Safety, etc.
  • Collaborative, proactive and results oriented
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail required.
  • Strong administrative skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues related to regulations, laws and policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • HR intermediate generalist relating to all areas of human resources, including employee relations, recruitment, training, performance management, health and safety, benefits, etc.
  • Provides employee services that meet the needs of employees, facilitates problem solving of employee concerns, manages employee information and provides employment related information in a timely manner. Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as required
  • Organize employee onboarding, coordinate training and development initiatives.
  • Perform tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, occupational health and safety, training and development, etc.
  • Promote HR programs to create an effective and conflict-free workplace.
  • Offer accurate information/support to employees on HR-related topics such as compensation, benefits and leaves; and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Act as an advisor by providing advice guidance and/or coaching on sensitive, confidential and complex HR issues, ensuring compliance with GFX policies, Employment Standards and other regulatory employment and human rights requirement
  • Participate in the creation, modification and administration of company policies and procedures.
  • Continuous improvement or modification of current processes.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of employee onboarding and new hire experiences.
  • Ensure compliance and understanding of current policies and procedures
  • Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
