Title and Summary
Manager, Product Management

Job Description Summary

Mastercard’s Cyber and Intelligence organization develops and delivers world-class security products and services for customers across the globe. C&I was established to safeguard all aspects of safety and security in payments with new products, services, and standards.

Fraud and chargebacks disrupt the entire payments ecosystem, driving both card issuers and merchants to focus on resolving disputes instead of increasing card acceptance and revenue. Ethoca Consumer Clarity (“Clarity”) changes the dialogue, creating a rich environment for issuers and merchants to engage cardholders post-transaction, reducing frustration and driving repeat spend. The Director, Product Management – First Party Fraud, Consumer Clarity Product will lead the First Party Fraud business strategy and implementation for the Clarity product portfolio. This includes defining the product roadmap, driving product improvements, managing and operating the product in market, and monitoring the success of the product business, all in collaboration with engineering, marketing, and sales organizations. In this role, you will work closely with our partners to define and drive requirements, as well as guide business architecture and go-to-market execution, and be a primary advocate for the needs our partners. This position reports to the Vice President of Product.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the rapid evolution of the First Party Fraud business and product strategy, and ensure that our rich value proposition is fully delivered.
  • Take a data-driven approach to product enhancements, identifying areas of opportunity and contributing to the product roadmap, while prioritizing work to deliver against key areas of focus.
  • Understand the Software Development Lifecycle and surface any barriers or obstacles to deliver capabilities on time and budget.
  • Leverage data & dashboards to quickly identify Partnership performance challenges, making recommendations on proposed action plans.
  • Be the market face for your areas of focus with internal global sales teams and Ethoca’s partners.
  • Establish and maintain strong two-way communication with our go-to-market teams, partners, and customers.
  • Support the evaluation, piloting, and launch of new capabilities in support of partner needs.
  • Monitor and assess risk of both existing and emerging competitive solutions, seeking to differentiate core capabilities, features, and functions to ensure consistent competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Develop clear, convincing, and data-driven business cases for significant new growth investments.
  • Incorporate an understanding of the broader payments ecosystem into ongoing product management (e.g. regulatory, legal, technology, competitive, technology environment etc.).

Qualifications
  • Experience in the Payments, Card Fraud, Ecommerce, or Financial Services space is desired – experience in Technology product management is a requirement.
  • A deep understanding of First Party Fraud and the supporting ecosystems, from both a strategic and tactical/implementation perspective, that enable and accelerate one-to-many relationships.
  • A solid understanding of technical concepts including the implementation and use of APIs, integration with third-party ecommerce platforms, and similar.
  • Ability to hit the ground running, adapt quickly and take an action-oriented, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to execution that focuses on measurable results.
  • Strategic, analytical, and systematic thinker who consistently drives continuous improvement.
  • A proven ability to lead in a matrix environment.
  • Experience contributing data-driven product ideas that were accepted for development and/or enhancement by senior leaders – optimally, experience leading a v1 product from ideation to launch.
  • Experience building and launching products for worldwide markets.
  • Committed to product management discipline and best practices – process-oriented, with a high attention to detail and quality on both internal team work and external products delivered to the market.
  • Hands-on, resourceful, and nimble with a track record of turning strategy into execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
