Senior Planner - Yorkshire Green, Leeds

Murphy is currently recruiting for a Senior Planner to join our award-winning Energy team covering Power, Transmission & Distribution projects such as Substations. Our team is known for its extensive in-house expertise and continual drive to innovate within the industry. The Senior Planner will lead and be accountable for the planning of the Grid, Yorkshire Green Substation project.

Murphy has designed, constructed, and commissioned projects for clients such as Grid, SSE, and Ørsted, on both transmission and distribution networks within the Energy sector.

What you will be doing:
  1. Assimilate information and summarise it in a manner that can be used to communicate the work scope to others.
  2. Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
  3. Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
  4. Prepare visual material in support of planned methods.
  5. Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.
  6. Define methods and establish outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chain in appropriate circumstances.
  7. Liaise with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
  8. Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items.
  9. Attend the bid review meeting to contribute a clear view of the work scope and the intentions for delivering it by reference to prepared material.

  11. In consultation with the estimator, advise the project team of required feedback reports and support.
Who we are looking for:
  1. Experience on Civil Engineering and/or Construction projects.
  2. Desirable experience working on HV Energy Transmission and Distribution projects.
  3. Use of planning software (P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA).
  4. Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in serving both tendering and contract delivery.
  5. A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
