Job Description

DeckMart, a premier specialty store for outdoor building materials with a team of over 40 employees, is looking for a dedicated and experienced HR Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be pivotal in overseeing our human resources operations, including hiring and developing talent that aligns with our company's strategic growth goals. You will foster an environment where our employees can excel, ensuring we have the right people in place to drive our company's success.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
  2. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  3. Manage employee benefits programs and coordinate with external providers.
  4. Handle employee inquiries and resolve work-related issues.
  5. Support organizational development and change management initiatives.
  6. Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Requirements Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of HR management experience.
  3. Strong understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Ability to work on-site and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Essential Skills:
  1. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Expertise in sourcing, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates. Ability to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies.
  2. Employee Relations: Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills. Ability to handle employee grievances and foster a positive work environment.
  3. Performance Management: Proficiency in designing and managing performance evaluation systems. Experience in coaching and developing employees to meet performance goals.
  4. HR Policies and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of labor laws and regulations. Ability to develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
  5. Organizational Development: Experience in managing change and driving organizational growth. Skills in developing and implementing training and development programs.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  7. Benefits Administration: Knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health benefits and RSP matching plans. Ability to manage relationships with external benefits providers.
  8. Strategic Planning: Ability to align HR initiatives with the company’s strategic goals. Experience in workforce planning and succession planning.
  9. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities. Capability to address and resolve complex HR issues.
  10. Leadership and Team Management: Proven leadership skills to manage and develop the HR team. Ability to inspire and motivate employees to achieve their best.
  11. Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with HR software and systems. Ability to leverage technology to streamline HR processes.
  12. Confidentiality and Ethics: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and high ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
