The OpportunityWe are seeking a well-rounded HR professional to join our team as an HR Generalist. This role will support the day-to-day partnership, deliverables, and HR initiatives with our clients. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of current laws and regulations, technical expertise, and excellent initiative, collaboration, time-management, and administrative skills.
Responsibilities- Provide professional-level human resources support and execute responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as compliance, health & safety, total rewards & benefits, training & development, recruitment, organizational effectiveness, performance management, succession planning, leadership coaching, HR policies/employee handbooks, etc.
- Participate in full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition, including postings, job descriptions, resume review, phone screens, interviews, reference/background checks, and offer letters.
- Develop, deliver, and administer onboarding programs for new hires.
- Draft business presentations to explain the purpose and goal and to seek compliance and understanding of human resources policies.
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain HR Policies and Procedures, including recommendations that align with best practices, client initiatives, and changes to legislation.
- Participate in disciplinary and termination meetings.
- Prepare all required HR correspondence, such as offer letters, promotions, terminations, documents, and communications.
- Support the development and execution of HR programs.
- Provide support with mid-year and annual Performance Management Program, including creating presentations, templates, and timelines.
- Support client training requirements as needed.
- Provide creative and innovative ideas, energy, and insights that help us deliver world-class people experiences.
- Other HR-related tasks, projects, and duties as required.
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
- 3-5 years' experience working in an HR Generalist or equivalent.
- A high level of initiative with a 'can-do' attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-oriented skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- A track record of exercising professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Travel to clients within York Region, GTA, and surrounding areas required.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing work environment.
- Hybrid role.
- Weekdays from 9am to 5pm.
