We are in search of an Intermediate Accountant to join our team located in North York, Ontario. This role is central to our finance activities, involving transactional finance tasks, report preparation, variance analysis, and audit support. This position offers a long term contract employment opportunity. Key responsibilities:- Support and assist in transactional finance activities, including the maintenance of charts of accounts, sub-accounts, and timecard accounts.- Prepare and analyze reports related to activity-based costing and activity-based budgeting.- Participate in and provide support for external and year-end audits.- Investigate and respond to queries from other departments regarding expenditures and financial statements.- Reconcile general ledger accounts such as deposit, earned and unearned revenue, pre-paid, inventories, fixed assets amortization, and create adjusting entries accordingly.- Utilize Microsoft Excel to maintain and manage data accurately and efficiently.- Perform other duties as assigned.- Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, etc.) is preferred- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is an advantage but not requiredRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
