Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the IT Procurement Director, the IT Procurement Manager is accountable for the successful management of procurement projects and contracts within their portfolio. Within the IT Procurement team, the IT Procurement Manager leads a team of IT Procurement Specialists, Analysts, and Officers in the development, procurement, and execution of contracts and master agreements using a variety of procurement methodologies. This role focuses on team leadership, client management, and the ability to resolve conflicts and ensure effective processes are in place to meet vendor and client needs.

The IT Procurement Manager communicates with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including acting as single point of contact for all procurement and contracting matters for a complete portfolio representing one or more Divisions and/or Ministries. The IT Procurement team manages the process of engaging suppliers in procurement, negotiation, execution, and termination of Government of Alberta (GoA) services. This involves working closely with service owners and suppliers to build and maintain collaborative relationships while receiving maximum value. IT Procurement team members have the responsibility to ensure GoA document management requirements are followed for all related contract and procurement information and documents.

Responsibilities:
Some of the role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Procurement and contract planning to ensure the highest-level procurement standards are achieved and maintained. IMTI (Information Management Technology) Procurement Management ensuring best practices and efficiency. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with clients and vendors. Providing effective leadership with a focus on coaching and mentorship of team and direct reports. Initiating staffing requirements and business processes augmentation to accommodate operational, and management priorities. Leadership, Mentorship, and Employee Development.

This position leads a team of specialized IT Procurement professionals with a focus on leadership, mentorship, effective coaching, and staff development. Position maintains strong relationships and strategic partnerships to facilitate province-wide Procurements, Vendor and Contract Management, and Master Agreement acquisition.
