Under the direction of the Director of Planning and Lands this position provides administrative support to the Planning and Development, and Engineering department through various administrative duties. The Lands and Planning Clerk provides front line service to the public and various stakeholders. The incumbent is expected to exercise independent judgement and work as a member of the Planning and Development team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent; Courses in Office Administration or similar preferred.PREFFERED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of computer systems and software applications (i.e. Word Perfect, Word, Lotus, Excel, Access, Arcview 3.1 and Autocad, Simply Accounting); Good administrative experience; Must possess excellent analytical skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced and political environment; Ability to deal with the pressures and expectations of the local business community and residents. Valid Class 5 Driver’s LicenseEquivalencies that include a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education may be considered. Ability to communicate in Inuktitut is an asset.
