Senior Drainage Engineer

Summary: We seek a Senior Drainage Engineer to develop design standards, conduct engineering studies, and oversee the development of planned maintenance programs.

We are looking for a Senior Drainage Engineer to join our team. If you have experience overseeing engineering-related work at the professional level, managing the work of subordinates and consultants, and developing design standards, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop design standards for drainage, including watercourses, culverts, ravines, and flood management features
  • Conduct or direct engineering studies pertaining to drainage, including inspection and monitoring of programs
  • Develop the capital program and budget for drainage
  • Oversee the development of planned maintenance programs
  • Review applications and identify infrastructure required by development
  • Provide technical expertise and support internal and external queries or requirements
  • Establish and maintain effective working relations with internal and external contacts
  • Prepare and develop Asset Management plans and programs across the Engineering Department
  • Provide direction and guidance to staff members, including recruitment, performance management, training, and coaching
  • Conduct investigations and administer discipline

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineering designation (P. Eng)
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional engineering experience
  • Ability to assign, supervise, and review the work of subordinates
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Work independently and within a team environment
  • Problem solve
  • Communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing
  • Accomplish objectives in a timely manner

The successful candidate will have the skill in the use of various office and software applications related to work, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
