As a Manager, Product Development, a typical day will include:

  • Working closely with:
    • Practice Group Leaders, Account Executives, Account Managers, and Marketers to identify product opportunities specific to their books of business;
    • Director, Market Management to negotiate growth agreements and incentives for new products with markets;
    • Internal Claims team to identify trends and gaps in coverage for product development;
    • Internal Marketing to develop sell sheets and presentations for new products; and
    • Internal Underwriter where products are specific to binding authorities.
  • Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for insurance product development, both within Axis existing book of business and for potential new clientele
  • Leading benchmarking projects
  • Leveraging market relationships to negotiate specific products
  • Managing a team of insurance professionals

Must haves:

  • At least 8-10 years of Commercial Insurance experience
  • General Agent Level II Insurance license through the Insurance Council of BC

You want a leg up?

  • CAIB or CIP insurance designation
  • Knowledge of EPIC
