Invest Ottawa – Global Expansion
Reporting to the Director, Business Development, this role is primarily responsible for Business Development and engagement with the Cyber Security sector in the Ottawa region.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain relationships with key industry players through regular outreach and needs assessments.
- Manage customer care program and provide support and care to all clients.
- Support the Director of Business Development in various initiatives.
- Gather market intelligence and work with the Director to promote the Ottawa region.
- Plan and coordinate orientation programs for foreign investors.
- Gain the confidence of the sector through regular contact with key executives and public officials.
- Assist on major initiatives to resolve current issues in the sector.
- Assist in development and execution of outgoing and incoming trade missions.
- Work with Marketing and Communications to shape messages related to the focus sector.
- Coordinate and facilitate the development of solutions for industry and organizations.
- Stay current on key and future business trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Provide value-added services to meet the needs of the business community.
- Provide mentorship and task management for BD Team assistant(s) or co-op student.
- Work closely with all levels of government on incentive programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Marketing, Commerce or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Business development, economic development and/or international business.
- Proven ability to represent the City in a broad range of environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the continental and international business communities.
- Strong decision-making capability rooted in supporting data analysis.
- Ability to establish priorities for own workload based upon need for immediate action.
- High independent contact with a wide variety of organizations and individuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Use of a vehicle and active and valid driver's license is a requirement.
