Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in growing our portfolio and broadening our capabilities in the US market. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing business cases and strategies for our suite of products in high definition displays, intelligent fire control, embedded computing, networking, power, and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop business cases and strategies for our products in the US market
- Build and maintain relationships with existing, new, and potential customers
- Engage industry partners and networks for opportunities to collaborate on ventures
- Meet with core and new customer base for Land and Joint Solutions to provide status reports, make presentations, and identify new business opportunities
- Support Proposal Managers on opportunities and hold Pursuit Decisions, Bid/No Bid, and Formal Management Review Meetings
- Interface with all groups within the company to establish a smooth flow of information related to all projects
- Provide regular project updates for Business Development Meetings and support strategic planning sessions
- Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of marketing and sales programs
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years combined experience in a defense-related industrial sector (technical, project, or proposal management, or marketing/business development)
- Knowledge of international sales and procurement, with a focus on the US defense market
- Passion to win new business and creative thinker who is resourceful and always striving to find a way to get it done
- A collaborative team player who can build consensus by pulling multi-disciplinary teams together and aligning them around common goals and objectives as they relate to growth
- Familiarity with government policies and OEM suppliers as related to defense procurement
- Proposal development experience would be ideal
- Be able to work flexible hours and be willing to travel, primarily to the United States
- Prefer Engineering Degree and MBA desirable, however, an acceptable level of engineering and business experience will be considered
- Ideally, an understanding of Ground Combat platforms, Communication, and Vehicle Electronics
- Business Development and Capture Management process, Proposal experience also highly valued
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
