Booking Clerk, Medical Imaging

We currently have an opportunity for a casual Booking Clerk, Medical Imaging at Mission Memorial Hospital. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Medical Imaging department, scheduling and booking patient appointments, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities • Schedules and books patient appointments in accordance with Radiologist's established priority level and medical/technical staff schedules • Arranges daycare beds for various procedures, including emergency appointments • Pre-registers daycare patients, obtaining patient information and entering it into the computerized patient database • Locates relevant patient information, such as images/films and consultation histories • Enters booking and image/film information into the applicable computerized and/or manual booking system • Registers patients, obtaining essential or changed information and entering it into the hospital's computerized patient information system • Maintains requisitions for all inpatient/outpatient bookings • Provides patient waiting list information to supervisor • Acts as receptionist, greeting and directing patients and visitors, and assisting staff with general enquiries • Arranges transportation for patients required for transfer and/or appointments • Orients new and relief staff to the scheduling and booking procedures of the assigned area • Performs clerical functions, such as operating a facsimile and/or photocopier, and signing out/in images/films for exams or other facilities Qualifications • Grade 12, two years' recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm • Knowledge of medical terminology • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Ability to deal with others effectively • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position • Ability to organize work • Ability to operate related equipment-
