Radiological Technologist, CT/General Procedures Specialist

The Radiological Technologist, CT/General Procedures position at Fraser Health Authority is a critical role in our Medical Imaging team. As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for performing special procedure examinations in CT and radiographic procedures in accordance with departmental policy and procedures. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety.
Responsibilities- Conduct CT and radiographic procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor patient safety and well-being during procedures, responding promptly to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Operate computerized imaging equipment, including processing and archiving of acquired data.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
- Develop and maintain procedure protocols and manuals to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Provide education and training to staff, medical residents, and students on CT and radiographic procedures.
- Contribute to the development of proposals and specifications for the purchase of major equipment and program enhancements.
- Participate in approved research and special projects in collaboration with Supervisor and other healthcare professionals.
Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is required. Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography and one year of recent, related experience, including supervisory experience and experience in radiology procedures, is preferred. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) level is also required.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of CT and radiographic procedures, as well as evidence-based practice, is essential. The ability to develop procedure protocols and manuals, and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, is also required.
