Medical Imaging Department Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clerical Supervisor to join our Medical Imaging team at Mission Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing direction and supervision to clerical staff, coordinating the clerical workflow, and performing related administrative and clerical duties.
Responsibilities- Supervise and direct clerical staff, determining priorities, establishing work schedules, and coordinating daily routines.
- Participate in the selection and training of new staff, conducting performance evaluations, and identifying ongoing education needs.
- Develop and implement written procedures to meet the needs of the Medical Imaging Department.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, developing standards, conducting audits, and compiling statistical data.
- Act as a resource for issues related to office equipment, computer systems, and other technical matters.
- Maintain supplies and equipment, monitoring inventory levels, and preparing requisitions.
- Responsible for timekeeping and payroll records, monitoring department expenditures, and advising the Manager of discrepancies.
- Provide clerical liaison with radiologists, supervisors, staff, physicians, and external agencies, scheduling appointments and coordinating patient information.
- Participate in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, following Health and Safety standards and practices.
- Schedule and lead clerical staff meetings, attend departmental meetings, and perform word processing support as required.
Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant program, and three years' recent related experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to supervise, organize work, communicate effectively, and deal with others.
- Ability to operate related equipment and perform physical duties of the position.
