Job Title: Repo Trading Support Specialist

BMO Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Repo Trading Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our global repo trading desks, you will provide day-to-day support to our teams, ensuring seamless execution of trades and efficient resolution of issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and accurate support to front, middle, and back office teams involved in global BMO Repo trading
  • Participate in the delivery of small-to-medium size enhancements to existing processes, aligned with business priorities
  • Develop strong partnerships with key business stakeholders and technology contacts
  • Act as an expert for all integration aspects of Repo systems, collaborating with external teams to resolve issues
  • Resolve identified issues with Repo trading system vendors and external contacts, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
  • Participate in system upgrades, infrastructure/security patching, and ensure applications are validated and ready for business following system changes
Requirements:
  • At least 2-3 years of experience working with Repo trading systems in a sell-side organization
  • Experience building productivity tools/applications in Python and Excel/VBA
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of Repo trading, including trade execution, inventory management, settlements, and electronic/tri-party trading
  • Experience with outright bond trading and Interest Rate derivatives is a strong asset
  • Experience with systems such as Bondfire, Broadridge FinPro/Impact/SFCM, Bloomberg TOMS, FIS BondOne, Calypso, Anvil, and Apex is an advantage
Qualifications:
  • Foundational level of proficiency in Agile Delivery and Development, Data Analysis, and Learning Agility
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Process Improvement and Optimization, Organization Process Optimization, Business Architecture Frameworks, Stakeholder Analysis and Management, Digital Fluency, Systems Thinking, Verbal and Written Communication Skills, Collaboration and Team Skills, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills, and Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Business Requirements Definition and Analysis, Insights Development and Reporting, Application Functional Design, Functional Analysis, and typically between 5-7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
