Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Client Services & Disability Management provides strategic leadership to claims management, the quality assurance and business training functions, and the Dispute Resolution & Decision Review Body (DRDRB). In addition, as a client-centric leader, the incumbent will represent the organization externally by building relationships with key partners in the community (e.g., workers, employers, health care providers, and industry, labour and safety associations).

Your vice president responsibilities:

  • Support the achievement of the organization's mission, vision and values and participate as a member of the Strategic Management Council (SMC).
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the executive team, Board of Directors, board committees and external service providers and partners.
  • Define a clear, innovative vision to the operation of claims management and the provision of high-quality decision making while ensuring compliance under the Workers' Compensation Act.
  • Provide inspirational leadership and clear direction to ensure efficient and quality processing and delivery of claims management, exceptional claims management training, and quality assurance.
  • Oversee the first level of appeal for both claim and premium-related issues through the DRDRB.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic five-year business plan and the development of annual corporate objectives.
  • Develop unique and innovative solutions to complex and often sensitive administrative, operations or policy issues that may have a major impact on clients.

Your experience and skills:

As the ideal candidate, you must have extensive related senior management experience in a complex organization along with proven leadership skills that reflect a philosophy that is well understood, widely supported, consistently applied, and effectively implemented. Your strong business acumen together with your knowledge of disability management, insurance practices and advanced planning, organizing and negotiating skills are critical to your success. Further, you are results oriented, have the ability to initiate and implement change, have proven problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to understand and relate to complex, multi-faceted issues. Key to your success is excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to articulate a clear vision for your division. You are accomplished at inspiring and engaging employees to achieve corporate and divisional objectives.
