Job Summary: Full-Time Security Guard Position at City of Brampton - Gateway Transit Terminal

Seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Security Guard to provide a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and the public at the City of Brampton - Gateway Transit Terminal.

Job Description:
  • Respond to and report all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazardous situations.
  • Unlock and lock doors, provide access control, and maintain a uniform security presence.
  • Conduct proactive patrols of the terminal stops, platforms, lobbies, and customer service areas.
  • Detain and enforce prohibited acts such as loitering, panhandling, smoking, and alcohol use.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the city.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ability to work alone or in a team, conduct proactive patrols, and address policy breaches.
  • Write detailed incident reports for all emergency and day-to-day activities.
  • Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons.
  • De-escalate crises, provide support, and liaise with emergency personnel.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Three (3) year Security Guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment.
  • Post-Secondary education in a related field would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, customer service skills, and physical demands.
  • Valid Security License for the Province of Ontario, current First Aid/CPR certification, and ability to utilize two-way radio and computer applications.
