Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at the City of Brampton. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing a uniform security presence at various City of Brampton locations, including the Rose Theatre, City Hall, Civic Centre, and other Downtown Brampton facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and report all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazardous situations
  • Unlock and lock doors and offices
  • Provide access control
  • Provide a uniform security presence within various locations and customer service areas
  • Deterring and enforcing prohibited acts such as loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding, and cycling
  • Ensure the buildings are secured after hours
  • Complete patrols with the use of an electronic guard tour
Requirements
  • Minimum one year of security experience
  • Minimum one year of security guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment
  • Dispatch and mobile experience is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including customer service skills
  • Valid Security License for the Province of Ontario
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Valid Ontario G Class Driver's License
  • Able to provide a three-year clean driver's abstract
