About the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB)
The BCLDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. Our mission is to provide exceptional customer service, deliver social responsibility programs, and uphold our core values of service, relationships, and results.
About this Role:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Manager, you will assist in the management of a major retail operation, ensuring good customer relations, supervising staff, developing teamwork, and maintaining good staff morale. You will also be responsible for controlling stock levels, stock variance control, and ensuring acceptable levels of security in the store for both staff and physical assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train staff to ensure excellent customer service and sales performance
- Develop and implement strategies to improve sales and customer satisfaction
- Control stock levels and manage inventory to minimize losses
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Participate in labour relations matters and contribute to a positive work environment
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate
- A minimum of one year of recent experience as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor in a customer-facing service-oriented environment
- Experience must include direct accountability for achieving and driving sales
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a retail or hospitality environment
- Experience in an environment with annual sales in excess of $1 million
- Experience with visual presentation standards and KPIs
- Diploma or certificate in Business, Retail Management, or courses in Leadership/Supervision
