Job Summary: Clerical Clerk

Perform day-to-day clerical duties, including mail sorting, fax printing, and claim form scanning, to support the NIHB Claims Supervisor and contribute to a high-performance culture.

The Clerical Clerk is responsible for:

  • Opening, sorting, batching, and scanning claims by benefit into bundles of 25 or 50 on a daily basis
  • Managing claim returns, printing labels, and returning letters for mail out
  • Logging claim returns on a daily basis
  • Pulling claim adjustments as requested by the Call Centre
  • Pulling claims for Auditor using system-generated reports
  • Filing processor claims
  • Answering delivery door on a daily basis
  • Identifying efficiencies and process improvements
  • Ensuring service standards and quality targets are met by monitoring and participating in team activities
  • Supporting the management of vendors, including Canada Post, Superior Courier, Iron Mountain, and Neopost Canada
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Managing and troubleshooting office equipment, including fax machines, printers, and Neopost
  • Supporting internal and external mail services, including Purolator requests and inter-office mail
  • Assisting with facility issues and concerns
  • Collaborating with all departments, including managers, supervisors, seniors, and staff

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience in a clerical/administrative position
  • College degree or high school diploma/GED required
  • Excellent office and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment
  • Able to take direction well and work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated track record of reliability and dependability
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate change management
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven time and resource management skills to ensure deadlines are met
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
