Job Position: Insurance Litigation Law Clerk

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Hybrid

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze file materials to assist in drafting assessments and evaluations.
  • Organize and manage files or parts of files, including requesting, indexing, and organizing documentary productions.
  • Support the Firm's lawyers with drafting pleadings, document production, drafting motions, mediation briefs, pre-trial briefs, and preparing for hearings and trials.
  • Review and summarize transcripts of examinations for discovery for undertakings, refusals, and assembly of answers to undertakings.
  • Correspond with all counsel to ensure that all productions are received, including liability productions from co-defendants and damage productions from plaintiffs.
  • Provide support on matters related to professional negligence, product liability, motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls claims.
  • Communicate effectively and act as liaison between the client and lawyer for day-to-day matters.
  • Maintain knowledge and comply with the firm's practice and file management policies and procedures.
  • Docket time and billings accordingly.
  • Participate in the analysis of claims.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in law litigation.
  • Insurance experience is a must.
  • Tort files experience is a must.
  • Ability to work in teams as well as independently.
  • System savvy.
