About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Examiner to join our team at ARAG Legal Solutions Inc. as we continue to expand and strengthen our presence in the legal expense insurance market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of new and potential claims to determine coverage under applicable insurance contracts and take appropriate action.
  • Participate in the resolution of simple to moderate claims and coverage issues, working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
  • Develop and deliver training on products, risk management, and advice to lawyers and firms, showcasing expertise in insurance litigation and tort law.
  • Maintain effective relationships with external lawyers, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Assist with various accounting functions, including financial analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and administration of claims management policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Identify and report liability and damages exposure for insured parties.
  • Coordinate and manage claim files, ensuring seamless communication with insureds, brokers, external counsel, and internal clients.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a claims adjuster, law clerk, legal assistant, or paralegal, with a strong background in insurance litigation and tort law.
  • Ability to evaluate and assist in the successful resolution of complex litigation matters.
  • Comprehensive understanding of legal fees and billing assessment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • High-level interpersonal skills, with a strong service-oriented approach and a positive attitude.
