About the Role:
The ARAG Legal Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Claims Examiner - Risk Management Specialist to support our efforts in expanding and strengthening our presence in the legal expense insurance market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess new and potential claims to determine coverage under the applicable insurance contract and take appropriate action.
- Participate in the resolution of simple to moderate claims and coverage issues, working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
- Deliver training on products, risk management presentations, and advice to lawyers and firms, promoting our innovative legal expense insurance solutions.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external lawyers, brokers, and other industry partners.
- Assist with various accounting functions, including financial analysis and reporting.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and administration of claims management policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage claim files, including liaison with insureds, brokers, external counsel, and internal clients.
About You:
- Minimum of 1 year's experience as a claims adjuster, law clerk, legal assistant, or paralegal, with a strong background in insurance litigation and tort law.
- Ability to evaluate and assist in the successful resolution of litigation, with a comprehensive understanding of legal fees and billing assessment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
- High-level interpersonal skills, with a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
