About the Opportunity

Under the remote supervision of the Manager, and working with the team, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares, dispenses and administers radiopharmaceuticals to perform more than 70 nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies, effectively, efficiently, professionally and ethically. Within this diverse scope is the on-going quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment and documentation maintenance required by hospital accreditation, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Health Canada.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is expected to adapt procedures and perform complex computer manipulations and analysis while providing a high standard of health care to the client. On a rotating basis, he/she is required to independently perform on-call/emergency procedures outside of department hours for presentation to the nuclear medicine physician.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
    Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Able to adapt to changes or unusual circumstances in a way that promotes co-operation, team work and minimizes disruption to the work environment
  • Must be able to establish a rapport with patients demonstrating courtesy, kindness, understanding and professionalism at all times
  • Must be committed to practicing all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and demonstrate initiative in maintaining and expanding all related skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Monday to Friday days; subject to change as operationally required
  • Call rotation is required
  • Travel between the HI and VG sites may be required
Compensation and Incentives

$ $39.96 hourly
