Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our team in driving continuous improvement initiatives, process development, and standardization within the department. This role will also be responsible for leadership of a supervisory team and ensuring accurate and organized maintenance of training and safety records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the day-to-day activities of the department, ensuring Supervisors are aligning labor resources with daily/hourly work volumes
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional management teams to align best practices across all business groups
  • Mentor Supervisors in leading team engagement and aligning to Grainger Principles and values
  • Lead departmental safety focus, including standardization of safety practices
  • Monitor key performance indicators to identify opportunities to improve service quality and team results
  • Ensure accurate and organized maintenance of training and safety records

Requirements:

  • College and/or University in Supply Chain, Quality or Operations, or equivalent experience
  • High school diploma with 5 years' leadership experience in a multi-shift operation with large employee populations
  • Financial acumen and experience to support budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with continuous improvement, process mapping, LEAN and/or Six Sigma methodology
  • Analytics including data mining, report building, and presentation
  • Project Management experience and/or education preferred
