Wood is seeking a highly experienced Process Department Manager to join our esteemed Mining & Minerals business group. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to lead and shape process engineering initiatives within diverse and challenging projects, contributing to the success of Wood's global mining operations.

As the Process Department Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the seamless execution of process engineering tasks across various projects. Your expertise will guide and mentor a team of process engineers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary support and direction to deliver exceptional results.

This position demands strong leadership skills, technical proficiency, and a collaborative approach to effectively manage project interfaces and foster teamwork within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for process engineering activities across diverse mining projects, encompassing potash, uranium, and base metals.
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence by mentoring and guiding process engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Ensure seamless coordination and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and external partners to achieve project objectives effectively.
  • Leverage your extensive experience in greenfield and large brownfield projects to contribute to the successful execution of complex engineering endeavors.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the process division, driving innovation and enhancing operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Extractive Metallurgy is essential for this role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in potash and/or uranium processing is highly valued.
  • Possess over 15 years of comprehensive experience in process engineering, with a proven track record of success in the mining industry.
  • Registration with APEGS or eligibility for registration is required.
  • A strong understanding of process plant design and operation principles is crucial.
  • Proficiency in process modeling software is essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are vital for effective collaboration and team management.
