Physiotherapy Resident Position

The Physiotherapy Resident is a key member of our rehabilitation team, responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities.
As a Physiotherapy Resident, you will develop holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques to assist patients in regaining and/or maintaining optimal function.
You will work collaboratively with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers to promote health, provide physiotherapy treatment, and manage patient care.
This role also involves supervising physiotherapy assistants and contributing to the evaluation of team effectiveness.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapy Resident with a Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university.
Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body) is also required.
Additionally, you should have computer skills, including statistics input, word processing, and Outlook, as well as annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS) and WHMIS training and certification.
Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
HoursThis is a temporary full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly, approximately 12 months, with shifts including days and some weekends.
Travel to various sites may be required.
Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly rate for this position is $33.97.
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
