Job Summary: 2nd Class Power Engineer required to operate and maintain a Central Heating Plant at the Victoria General Hospital, reporting to the Chief Power Engineer.

The 2nd Class Power Engineer will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining the Central Heating Plant and all its auxiliary equipment, monitoring the steam boilers and distribution system, central refrigeration plants, and ventilation systems. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a valid Driver's License.

About the Role
  • Interprovincial Second Class Power Engineer License required
  • Two years' experience in a high pressure plant (steam) and associated equipment
  • Travel to other sites may be required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Working Conditions
  • Permanent, full-time position; 90 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits

$35.28 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.

This position is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $192.31 biweekly.
