Job Title: Food Service Worker 2, Diet, Dietary - Minimum and Medium Security Units
Location: Port Coquitlam, BC
The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Worker 2 to join our team. As a Food Service Worker 2, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care by preparing and serving nutritious meals to patients in our minimum and medium security units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, portion, and substitute food items according to special and reducing diets.
- Prepare sandwich fillings, salads, and other related food items by combining, mixing, and/or blending ingredients.
- Wash, peel, slice, dice, grate, and portion fruits and vegetables.
- Count, weigh, and package food items such as bagged lunches.
- Prepare beverages and food items such as tea, coffee, and toast.
- Set up diet food trays and ensure diet trays go to the correct wards.
- Check and record food and fridge temperatures.
- Place leftover prepared food items in cold storage according to established protocol.
- Strip, rack, and wash items such as dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Maintain work areas by performing cleaning duties such as sweeping and damp mopping floors.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering the telephone and documenting food, fridge, and dishwasher temperatures.
Requirements:
- Grade 10 plus one (1) year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Food Safe Certificate.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
