Job Title: Case Manager

At the Canadian Red Cross, we are seeking a skilled Case Manager to join our team. As a Case Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals impacted by disruptive events through case management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individuals in a confidential and empathetic setting, listening to their experiences and needs.
  • Document immediate, medium, and long-term needs and assess relevant services to support individuals.
  • Provide appropriate services and solutions, including basic needs, referrals, financial assistance, and recovery planning.
  • Identify individual needs, strengths, vulnerabilities, and capacities, and work with them to develop a recovery plan.
  • Book follow-up meetings to check-in and ensure individuals know their next steps.

Requirements:

  • College degree in a related field, and 1-3 years of experience in customer service, case management, disaster recovery, health services, or a related field.
  • Knowledge or experience in customer service, disaster recovery, emergency management, community development, social work, or psychology is an asset.
  • Experience in emergency settings is an asset.
  • Understanding of Red Cross role in emergency response and recovery is an asset.
  • Experience using database systems is required; experience using EMIS is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Excel, SharePoint) and Adobe is an asset.
  • Current First Aid certification or willingness to take training.
  • Current Psychological First Aid Certification or willingness to take training.
  • Language requirements: must be able to read, write, and deliver services in English. Additional languages are a strong asset, particularly Ukrainian and Tagalog.

Working Conditions:

  • The majority of the work is performed in a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Potential for responding in disaster areas, as well as difficult and unstable conditions, and uncomfortable conditions.
  • Ability to respond during non-traditional hours and long hours of work in a demanding context.
  • Ability to respond in local community (3 days minimum) and outside of their community (10 days minimum).
