Aecon, a Canadian leader in infrastructure development, seeks a skilled Craft Recruiter to join its team. As a Craft Recruiter, you will play a key role in providing transactional recruitment support for trades positions and fostering a positive labour relations environment between project teams and trade union partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs and provide guidance on the screening process.
  • Post job requisitions internally and externally, and source candidates through professional organizations, career fairs, and other websites.
  • Screen resumes and interview candidates to determine qualifications.
  • Assist with the creation of onboarding documentation.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, and stakeholders to foster effective relationships.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction industry trends and best practices for recruitment.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of job descriptions as required.
  • Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in full-cycle recruitment in a high-volume environment required.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and trade unions is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build superior working relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of provincial employment laws, best practices, and legal framework.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills is essential.
  • Strategic thinking and excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and function independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office and grievance or document management systems.
  • Valid driver's license required for frequent travel.
