The Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Craft Recruiter to provide transactional recruitment support for trades positions and assist with building and fostering a positive labour relations environment between our Project Teams and trade union partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs and provide guidance on the screening process.
  • Post job requisitions internally and externally, and source candidates through professional organizations, career fairs/educational institutions, cold calling, and other websites/social media forums.
  • Screen resumes and interview candidates to determine qualifications.
  • Assist with the creation of onboarding documentation (offer letters, agreements, etc.).
  • Develop collaborative relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, site admins, and stakeholders to foster effective relationships.
  • Support creation and maintenance of Job Descriptions as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction industry trends and best practices for recruitment.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in full-cycle recruitment in a high-volume environment required. Preference would be given to those with construction, heavy civil, oil and gas, mining, or similar experience.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and trade unions is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build superior working relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of provincial employment laws, best practices, and legal framework.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills is essential.
  • Strategic thinking and excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and function independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Advanced computer skills MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and grievance or document management systems.
  • Valid Driver's License required for frequent travel for meetings and conferences.
  • Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.
