Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Recruitment Consultant to enhance their workforce in Edmonton. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dedicated team to identify exceptional talent, nurture candidate relationships, and ensure a seamless and positive experience throughout the hiring journey.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition (80%)
  1. Manage the complete recruitment cycle for individual contributor roles (temporary, contract, and permanent) within the designated client portfolio, including:
  2. Craft compelling and engaging job advertisements that align with organizational standards.
  3. Collaborate with hiring managers to devise effective marketing and outreach strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
  4. Formulate pre-screening inquiries as necessary.
  5. Conduct initial phone or virtual screening interviews as required.
  6. Establish screening criteria for hiring managers and evaluate resumes accordingly.
  7. Coordinate interview schedules with candidates, including securing appropriate venues for in-person meetings.
  8. Prepare preliminary interview guides for hiring managers' review and finalization.
  9. Oversee the collection and completion of Confidentiality Agreements.
  10. Participate in interview panels, providing unbiased assessments of candidates.
  11. Compile and distribute interview materials for hiring panels.
  12. Prepare and present compensation recommendations to hiring managers.
  13. Conduct all necessary pre-employment verifications (e.g., background checks, educational verification, reference checks).
  14. Extend verbal offers to candidates and facilitate negotiation processes, along with drafting written offers.
  15. Address candidate inquiries as needed.
  16. Provide constructive feedback to candidates who were not selected, upon request.
Consultative Approach
Deliver a consultative approach to talent acquisition, ensuring a positive and effective experience for both hiring managers and candidates through strategic coaching, planning, communication, and outcome delivery. Gain a thorough understanding of the business areas within the assigned client group and foster strong relationships with hiring leaders. Equip hiring managers with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the recruitment process effectively. Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners to ensure that job descriptions are accurate and comprehensive before initiating job postings. Adhere to Collective Agreements, Employment Terms and Conditions, and organizational Policies and Procedures regarding compensation and salary placements. Maintain meticulous records related to recruitment activities.

Proactive Sourcing
Actively seek out talent by leveraging professional networks and utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter to identify and engage qualified candidates (both active and passive). Regularly update the Recruitment Tracker to ensure accurate reporting of talent acquisition metrics.

Additional Responsibilities (20%)
  1. Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing the Talent Acquisition process.
  2. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Talent Acquisition policies and practices.
  3. Monitor and respond to inquiries in the Careers inbox.
  4. Address internal employee questions related to talent acquisition.
  5. Manage adjustments to pay scales following further education advancements for Faculty staff.
  6. Propose training initiatives and co-facilitate sessions to enhance leadership skills.
  7. Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports and recommendations as needed.
  8. Participate in relevant working groups and committees.
  9. Stay informed about emerging practices in Talent Acquisition and recommend regular improvements to the function.
  10. Engage in professional development activities to maintain and enhance skills in line with industry trends.
  11. Support company-wide events that enhance the learner experience.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in talent acquisition is preferred.
  2. A diploma or degree in human resources, management, business, commerce, or a related field. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.
  3. Progress towards or possession of a Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation.
  4. CPHR designation is an asset.
  5. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Experience with PeopleSoft, SAP, or other applicant tracking systems is advantageous.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  8. Strong business acumen.
