**Process Lead Job Description** A Process Lead is responsible for eliminating process losses, supporting line teams, and coaching problem-solving using standard tools.

About the role

The Process Lead is a key role that focuses on eliminating process losses, supporting line teams, and coaching problem-solving using standard tools. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining daily management systems (DMSs) and continuously improving them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership
    • Participate in line daily direction setting (DDS) meetings and execute the daily plan.
    • Report on results for the previous 24 hours, including centerline (CL) completion and compliance, and changeover (CO) adherence to plan and critiques.
  • Planning and Maintaining Continuous Improvement (CI)
    • Identify, prioritize, and eliminate process losses.
    • Build process capability and control.
    • Provide feedback to design and lead smart standardization deployment.
    • Define equipment standards.
    • Lead change management (CM) and validation processes.
    • Lead process failure technical troubleshooting.
    • Lead benchmarking and reapplication.
    • Collaborate with line leads and equipment owners to develop new standards.
  • Owning Line Tasks
    • Design, implement, and maintain systems to collect and analyze data for critical product and process parameters.
    • Use data to identify process losses.
    • Work with line management to prioritize improvement opportunities.
    • Eliminate or reduce losses through process or work system changes.
    • Participate in DDS process – report results, flag issues, and request resources.
    • Owning critical DMSs, e.g., Run-to-Target (RTT) and centerlines.
    • Use reliability engineering and data analysis tools to drive centerline and loss elimination.
    • Standardize equipment and work processes; own the change management (CM) system for a designated process.
    • Update process control strategies and operating procedures as changes occur.
    • Share and reapply learnings across processes, modules, and sites.
    • Prepare and give training on process/equipment changes.
    • Develop through participating in corporate and external training.
    • Take part in planned stops and rapid changeovers (RCO) flowing to the line, as needed.
    • Standardize and improve RCO.
  • Other Expectations
    • Spend 80% of time on the floor.
    • Become a technical expert for a designated process.
    • Qualify in all basic operating roles.
    • Coach and collaborate with line teams, and with site and regional equipment or process owners.
    Reporting Relationship

Depending on the complexity of the site, the Process Lead can report to the line lead or to the technical department manager.

The Process Lead receives additional coaching from autonomous maintenance (AM) teams, progressive maintenance (PM) resources, the integrated work system (IWS) lead, and continuous improvement (CI) teams.

About You
  • Basic IWS high performance organization (HPO) training.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal collaboration skills.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to present to small groups.
  • Strong technical skills, and ability to work with data and information.
  • Priority setting.
  • Strong communication/coaching/training skills.
  • Technical and practical equipment and tool skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assimilate technical data to support recommendations.
  • Good experience in problem-solving in the production area.
  • Familiarity with structured problem-solving tools.
  • Experience in using Microsoft office, and specifically excel or other analytical applications.
Travel Requirements
  • Occasional 5% based on assigned project locations.
Environmental / Working Conditions
  • Must be able to freely move around entire facility.
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to heat.
