Job Description:

In support of achieving our long-term strategic objectives, we are searching for a Manufacturing Operations Leader to oversee our Brantford, Ontario, Canada facility, a private label manufacturer of frozen griddle products. The Manufacturing Operations Leader assumes complete ownership and accountability for overall plant operations with a strong desire to succeed. Through subordinates, supervisors, and managers, the Manufacturing Operations Leader ensures employee engagement, safety, quality, customer service, continuous improvement, cost management, and production objectives are met or exceeded. This role is responsible for providing coaching and leadership to team members in the areas of employee engagement, safety, quality, customer service, continuous improvement, cost management, and equipment reliability to elevate the team's performance. Success relies on the ability to build relationships and fully engage all employees in business improvement. You will add value to this role by performing various functions, including but not limited to:

  • Promoting a safety culture and ensuring adherence to all health and safety policies/protocols.
  • Leading the development, execution, and monitoring of the operations strategy in line with the overall operational objectives to achieve safety, quality, and performance improvement and ensure achievement of manufacturing goals.
  • Leading the continuous improvement program to deliver opportunities in cost, quality, food safety, and service.
  • Continually coaching, engaging, and training employees in utilizing Lean principles, building a culture of recognition where you celebrate wins and continue to the next challenge.
  • Utilizing available data including OEE, line speed target, and efficiency and process data to continuously improve productivity, uptime, and reliability.
  • Coordinating manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Assisting in the development of operational and capital budgets, policies and procedures, and the execution of same.
  • Upholding our core values and ensuring that operations are conducted with integrity.
Important Details: This is an on-site role that requires minimal travel. About You:
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, processing, or packaging industry required; food industry experience in refrigerated dough highly preferred.
  • Experience leading a bargained workforce.
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement experience strongly desired.
  • Insatiable curiosity - asking the compelling and challenging questions.
  • Results-driven with a strong desire to grow and learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding targets and goals.
