About the Opportunity
UJA's Integrated Development team is looking to amplify our fundraising efforts by building a hub for all data, analytics and reporting needs. This team will be an integral part of the Integrated Development team and working collaboratively with various leaders.
We are seeking a seasoned Director - Data, Analytics & Reporting to lead a team with the mandate of;
- Elevating how we collect, analyze & use data,
- Streamlining and improving the effectiveness of our reporting
- Building processes and mechanisms to proactively analyze and leverage our data to inform key UJA priorities and strategy.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Accountable for crafting the vision, strategies and implementation of the key processes to create a high performing Data, Analytics and Reporting team to help elevate how UJA uses, analyzes and reports on key data to inform UJA priorities and strategy.
- Build the processes and tools to effectively capture, streamline and analyze data from all across UJA to help drive insight and action.
- Partner with the Salesforce team to build value added reporting processes and reports to help guide decision making and forward-looking strategy.
- Serve as a strategic partner to Integrated Development team to analyze data and trends to proactively identify opportunities to guide fundraising strategy, priorities, programs and key initiatives.
- Accountable for tracking and reporting on all key department and fundraising metrics, as well as ROI on key initiatives, events and programs.
- Work with Salesforce team to improve the usability and effectiveness of Salesforce tool.
- Accountable for ensuring donor data accuracy in Salesforce and working with key members of the Integrated Development team to streamline dashboards and initiative reporting.
- Support the Vice President, Strategy, Operations and Analytics on key reporting and communication with the Senior Leadership Team and Board.
- Key member of the budget team.
- Work in collaboration with Director, Strategic Operations to help step change processes and operations for the Integrated Development team and identify key priority prospect pools and channels.
- Ad hoc analysis and other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree, or equivalent experience 10+ years' relevant work experience, primarily in data and process driven roles.
- Experience using reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI
- Experience working with business intelligence systems, dashboard reporting and analytical reporting
- Previous experience managing and developing talent; passionate about helping people learn and grow
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build rapport with colleagues
- Experience overseeing lay volunteers and committees considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and associated functions
- Willingness and ability to learn additional applications and platforms as needed
- Knowledge of Salesforce an asset
- Proactive with excellent organizational, prioritizing and time-management skills
- A self-starter able to leverage his/her knowledge, skills and experience to manage complex change from start to finish
- Ability to manage complex projects and budgets, working collaboratively with staff as well as with multiple stakeholders to deliver results
- An ability to think strategically and critically, developing strategic plans that achieve organizational objectives
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making and analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail
- Enthusiasm, creativity, innovation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
- Familiarity with non-profits, the Toronto Jewish community and/or experience in Jewish Communal Service considered an asset
This is a full-time permanent position. At UJA we support a flexible work schedule and all of our employees engage in hybrid work. In addition to a rich time off policy, UJA's offices are closed on all Jewish holy days (yom tov) and we support early office closures to observe the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat).
