Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at the City of Windsor. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining instrumentation and control systems, as well as performing preventive maintenance and modifications to electrical, instrumentation, and power systems.

About the Job:

  • Repair and maintain all phases of instrumentation and control systems, both pneumatic and electronic
  • Perform preventive maintenance and modifications to electrical, instrumentation, and power systems
  • Write daily logs and reports
  • Initiate purchases and make emergency purchases
  • Maintain amiable relations with the public and fellow staff
  • Travel to various off-site locations
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and be fit tested for SCBA as required
  • Perform Occupational Health & Safety duties

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) year community college diploma as an Electrical Engineering Technologist or related field
  • Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction Maintenance Electrician (309A)
  • Over two (2) years of general electrical experience plus two (2) years experience in instrumentation
  • Valid and lawful Class 'G' Driver's Licence
  • Working knowledge of solid state circuitry, PLC hardware and software, VFDs, instrument calibration and troubleshooting
  • Experience in emergency generator systems, substation maintenance and transformers to 27,000 volts
