What is the Opportunity?
The Royal Bank of Canada's Technology and Operations division is a global leader in delivering innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent various business areas, including Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior IT Project Manager to join our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) IT team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver initiatives using Agile and Iterative Waterfall methodologies, communicate cross-functionally, and ensure transparency of progress and outcomes.
- Remove impediments to deliver outcomes and results through proactive management of external dependencies, critical thinking, problem-solving, and development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges.
- Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues.
- Develop and manage the detailed schedule, identify early warning indicators, provide direction for early resolution of risks, issues, and clear escalation path for program committees.
- Oversee financials and staffing levels to efficiently meet project delivery requirements and tracks value for effective decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, including vendors, RBC IT teams, and business partners.
- Build and present reporting for management-level presentations and ensure the completion of risk assessments and the identification and execution of contingency plans.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Technology, or Financial Services with 3+ years of Project Management and/or Senior-level Scrum Master experience, including both Waterfall and Agile project management.
- Knowledge of Agile Project Management workflows, including milestones, critical paths, product, and sprint backlogs, with proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
- Ability to manage projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components.
- Knowledge of change management and risk management, working knowledge of Software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification or equivalent.
- CSM - Certified Scrum Master Certification.
