This role is integral to our Financial Solutions Team, where you will contribute to the advancement of multi-unit construction financing and energy efficiency initiatives under the National Housing Strategy (NHS).
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Finance and Accounting Manager, you will:
- Lead the evaluation and decision-making processes for financial applications related to multi-unit affordable housing.
- Ensure effective communication and tracking to align projects with annual budget allocations.
- Enhance program and policy efficiencies through coordinated efforts and systems.
- Foster a culture of engagement and accountability within your team, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Promote diversity and inclusion, implementing practices that respect and value the varied backgrounds and skills of our workforce.
- Manage politically sensitive issues, balancing stakeholder interests while ensuring due diligence in application reviews.
- Provide strategic insights for policy improvements in Affordable Housing and Insurance.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in housing programs, with at least three years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Expertise in underwriting principles, credit risk analysis, and real estate financing.
- Strong critical thinking and judgment skills, particularly in politically sensitive situations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities in both French and English, including negotiation skills.
