The Labour and Employment Board is a quasi-judicial administrative tribunal responsible for the supervision of labour relations in both the private and public sectors in New Brunswick.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Legal Officer to provide professional assistance and support with respect to labour relations, legislation, and regulations.
- Process applications and complaints filed with the Labour and Employment Board
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards of procedure and documentation
- Answer inquiries from the public with respect to legislated processes
- Assist with drafting of documents and correspondence in both official languages
- Edit Board decisions prior to release
- Assist with preparation of the Annual Report
- Conduct representation votes as Returning Officer
- Bachelor's degree in business/public administration, social sciences or other related discipline
- Minimum of four (4) years related work experience, including experience in reading and interpreting legislation
- Law degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
